Compassionate and loving God,
you created a beautiful world for us to share:
Give us the desire to live simply,
so that our lives show your generosity.
You made us responsible for the earth:
Guide us so that those who come after us may enjoy your creation. Amen.
To work for reconciliation every day — with God, with human beings and with the environment. Faith, justice and solidarity with the poor and the excluded are central elements of the Jesuit mission of reconciliation.

There are approximately 60 Jesuit provinces around the world (although their number and boundaries have never been static). Each province has a superior who is simply called “the Provincial,” and who, in turn, reports directly to the central Jesuit government or “curia” in Rome, headed by the Superior General. The current “Father General,” as he is often called, is Father Arturo Sosa, S.J.
Today, the service of faith and the promotion of justice is the animating characteristic of the work being done at Jesuit middle schools, high schools, colleges and universities, parishes and retreat houses and in ministries around the world. This mission takes many forms, including works of service, justice, dialogue and advocacy.
The AOR Jesuit Development Office, the development arm of Jesuit Eastern Africa, leads impactful projects across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Sudan and South Sudan. Committed to transforming lives, we build partnerships and mobilize resources to support education, climate, healthcare, social justice, and pastoral care, especially in underserved frontier regions.
The Jesuit Development Office is dedicated to providing transformative education throughout Jesuit Apostolates in Eastern Africa. Our education system opens doors to learning that might otherwise remain closed by fostering critical thinking, moral integrity, and the empowerment needed to break cycles of poverty. By nurturing future leaders, we aim to inspire individuals who will champion social change and uplift their communities using our mantra: Men and Women for Others.
Our BUILD (Begin, Understand, Implement, Learn, Develop) Workshops equip participants with essential, hands-on skills to drive impactful change.
